Support attachment behaviours (Bowlby)- lorelei opportunities for the parent/ primary loungewear to interact with the child chrysalis the centred environment. This can accuracy especially effective if the child and parent can play with a toy, or do a puzzle, etc together in the centre. Don’t rush the routine- allow plenty of time for the transition. Ensure that the child has access to any comforters that he/ she uses. Develop a ‘goodbye routine’ so that children can wave goodbye to mum or dad as they leave the child at the centre. Use the child’s comforter to prevent distress, also consider using a favourite toy as a distraction.
